Fakhar-e-Alam

Fakhar-e-Alam (Punjabi, Urdu: فخر عالم) (born January 19, 1976 in Lahore, Pakistan) is a Pakistani actor, VJ and singer, popular for introducing the pop/bhangra genre of music in Pakistan. Though he is still considered a pioneer of pop/bhangra music culture in Pakistan, now he is much more popular for hosting TV shows and appearing in military/governmental sponsored music shows. As a social worker, Alam has a huge fan base and is respected for his untiring relief efforts in the wake of the October 8, 2005 earthquake in Pakistan.. On the 19th January 1976 in the cultural capital of Pakistan, Lahore, the Alam family was blessed with a baby boy who was named by his grandparents Fakhr-e-Alam meaning 'Pride of the World'. Fakhr-e-Alam spent his early childhood in Lahore, before moving to Islamabad. He did a lot of traveling right from the beginning as his father was in the Foreign Service. He started his schooling in Islamabad, and then went to school in the USA, while his father was posted in the United States Congress. After a few years of U.S education and exposure he returned to Islamabad to finish his schooling. His passion for acting and cricket took him to Lahore his birth city, where he started his college life at the prestigious Government College Lahore, which earned him the proud title of being called a RAVIAN. Government college Lahore also known as G.C had produced three former prime ministers, countless other politicians, bureaucrats, scholars and intellectuals. But Fakhr-e-Alam was the first true celebrity, entertainer, actor and pop star from this prestigious institution. In his college days he took great interest in poem readings, dramatics, debates and cricket. He was the vice captain of the college cricket team and one of the most popular students of his time in college. He earned a bachelors degree in Political Science, Economics and Journalism While still in college, Fakhr-e-Alam had recorded and released his debut album, which was a mega hit and shot him straight to stardom. There has been no looking back ever since. He is a successful young man. With 5 music albums, various endorsement deals, a successful experience in the restaurant business and an eye for identifying good business opportunity, he is indeed a star all the way. He now resides in Karachi alone, but makes one day visits to his parents and younger brother in Islamabad. His father is still working for the government and his mother is now one of the most feared political journalists, while his brother has just started his college life. As for him, he is busy like always, in fact, getting busier by the day. An ambitious and hard working person, he spends his spare time with his close friends. Spends his weekends flying planes and playing cricket. He is titled as 'Pakistan's King of Rap and Hip Hop', 'The Peoples Man', 'The Wonder Boy' and what not. Untamed energy, unmatched performance, unbelievable versatility, unbreakable spirit, unquestionable diversity, unbeatable communication skill, unknown phenomena and an unexplainable personality.. Fakhr-e-Alam now to be known as FALAM....
